An (Atheist) Easter Message from Ricky Gervais: Why I'm An Excellent Christian
My favorite part of this is his interpretation of the third commandment, You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
The ubiquitous and thoroughly modern reading — “you’re not supposed to say ‘Oh my God!’” — has always annoyed me.
The way I understand it (and the text supports this), the commandment means something closer to, “You don’t get to use God to justify your actions.”
Regardless of what you believe, that’s a moral code we can all live by.
